My wife and I have been running an orphanage and special needs shelter for abused women and children. Our passion is to help our community become a better place by not only protecting abused women and children from abuse but also to help them a fair and good head start for productive and successful future.
Our orphanage/shelter has grown from just having 5 children to now sheltering 30 children and 5 to 8 women at a given period of time. With our cause comes the importance of security. Most of the children and women we take care come recommended and referred to us by the police department or the social welfare department. With which many of them have security and life threatening issues.
To advance and ensure security for us and most especially for our children and women, we have established high security measures especially in accommodating visitors. We make sure that people who come in to our orphanage don't pose a threat to the lives and welfare of any of our children or women as well as of our staff.
We found
intercoms to be of great advantage for us both for operations and work inside as well as for screening visitors who come on a regular basis.
We have five buildings in our compound excluding our office, our kitchen and our staff house. For effective and efficient ground work and coordination, we have set up a
wireless intercom for every building including our playground. Being wireless, it saved us wiring set up concerns and weather issues. They are so economical we only spent on batteries once a year!
At the main entrance, we have set up a
video intercom that has helped us countless times to know who was on the door, know what they are up to and check on our data if that person is in our dangerous/prohibited persons list. With these intercoms, we are able to competently help people have a fair chance at life!
